While everyone’s definition of happiness might not be sub-zero temperatures, frostbite, and the feel of 4.0–5.0in. tires shredding through the snow, fat biking for many of us at Adventure Cycling has become the perfect way to get through the long, cold, dark winter months without allowing our bellies to grow over our shorts.
Lo and behold, February is now internationally recognized as Fat Bike February — naaw, it’s not, but maybe someday. Anyways, put away those cross country skis for now and if you happen to live down south, perhaps this is the time for a northern cycling excursion!
However, while February happens to be the month of fat biking, it’s also the month to get that perfect someone in your life something special. Valentine’s Day is February 14! Nicholas Carman presented Lael Wilcox with a fat bike. Smart guy.
So, if you’re short on bike-travel supplies, be sure to hop online or give our Cyclosource store a call. From maps of our 45,000 mi. route network, to cycling equipment, Adventure Cycling is stocked on all the gear, like some of the best in the bikepacking community: Revelate Designs, Ortlieb, Arkel, and Portland Design Works. From frame bags to seat bags, the gear is in. Are you?
So if you happen to live where the snow flies, or even if you don’t, don’t let snow stand in your way of a refreshing ride … you never know what kind of fat bike surprises might await you on the trail!
Until the sun, dirt, and dry roads come back, keep warm and ride on!
