Carson to Tahoe

Name of Park or Public Land:
Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park

Number of participants:

Ride Description:

Day 1: Starting from my front door in Carson City, Nevada we will grab some burritos at Playa Azul, then climb dirt King's Canyon Road with great views of Carson Valley and the Carson Range to Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park just past Spooner Summit. Then continue climbing North Canyon Road to the North Canyon Campground. This is about 4,000 or so feet of climbing. Day 2: Make some delicious coffee and then continue the last big climb to Aspen-covered Marlette Lake. Ride around the lake to begin the famous Flume Trail overlooking Lake Tahoe. Ride the Flume with amazing views of azure blue Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountains to the junction with Tunnel Creek Road and head up Tunnel Creek to the Junction with the Red House Flume (double track). Take the Red House downhill (finally!) with awesome views of Washoe Valley to Hobart Lake. From the lake, descend steep Hobart Road back to Carson City.

This trip is not open for members of the public to join.
