Experience the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. We'll ride from Shoreline Park in Mountain View to the Don Edwards Visitor Center in Fremont entirely on bike paths, over twenty miles, and then return through Menlo Park and Palo Alto. This ride includes the Dumbarton Bridge (both directions) and South Bay salt pond levees. The levees are moderately smooth dirt with just a few rocky spots, while most of the ride is pavement. We'll visit Cooley Landing and Coyote Hills Regional Park along the way. They're both part of the National Wildlife Refuge. We'll ride at an easy, social pace, and if you can ride 35 miles with a few moderate hills, you won't get left behind. Although this ride is co-sponsored by the Western Wheelers Bicycle Club, you don't have to be a member to ride, but you do have to be COVID-19 vaccinated and carry a mask. Bring snacks and water because there are no eateries along this ride.
