We start in Martinez, Ca. We take the train to Vacaville. From there, we ride north twelve miles to Lake Solano County Park. We camp overnight in tents. Next day, we ride east ten miles to the town of Winters, Ca, where we have lunch at a local restaurant to aid the local economy hurt so badly by the events of the last year-and-a-half. Then it's twelve miles to Davis, Ca, where we catch Amtrak back to Martinez.
The ride is level and mostly downhill, as this is the first bike adventure for Matthias, who is only ten years old.
Fees are uncertain, because of the wildfires. Plus, one of us (me) is a senior citizen, who gets a discount, but considering the fires and the pandemic, this might not be the time to take advantage of discounts.
