Denver is home to a fantastic bicycle path called the Cherry Creek Trail. Starting at Confluence Park at the heart of downtown Denver, the trail follows the Cherry Creek downstream through the city and into Cherry Creek State Park.
At the state park, visitors can take a dip in Cherry Creek Reservoir -- the closest thing to a beach Denverites will find. If you're lucky, you'll see some deer or birdlife and forget for a minute that you're right next door to the hustle and bustle of the Mile High City.
Route is 13 miles each way (26 miles round trip) on paved bike path. Beginner-level difficulty, all ages are welcome.
Daily park pass is $10 per person
