Mostly Protected bike route which loops out to the Far Rockaway boardwalk. The route starts in Brooklyn, goes through a part of Queens and circles back into Brooklyn. Features two bridges, ocean views, a new state park with a bicycle "library". In addition we will enter several other state parks and marine estuaries, all in one urban ride. The route is all paved with no big hills. Rest stops for coffee, snacks and restroom about midway. Bring cash for snacks and coffee or other refreshments if desired. All levels are welcome. We will use a "Point, Drop (or direction) Sweep system. There will be a ride leader and no-one will be left behind. Check out the new Shirley Chilshom State Park which features 10 miles of biking and hiking trails, Jacob Riis State Park, Far Rockaway Board Walk, Floyd Bennet Field and more.
