From San Francisco Zoo head north on the Great Highway multi-pupose path along Ocean Beach to Golden Gate Park with many dirt and paved bike path options. Head across Golden Gate Bridge and up Hawk Hill then down to the Marine Mammal Center (free) for a picnic lunch. A bit of trivia - the bark of the sea lions was recorded at The Marine Mammal Rescue Center to create the voices for the Velociraptors in Jurassic Park.
After lunch, there are many dirt and gravel multi-use roads like Bob Cat Trail and Miwok to explore plus Rodeo Beach option. Many paths are not bike legal and the Park police are strict so it is best to visit the Marine Headlands Visitor center for the latest bike maps on the way to the Marine Mammal Rescue Center.
Registration for this event is currently closed. Check back soon for the launch of Bike Your Park Day for 2020!
