Thank you for signing up to be a Bike Travel Weekend Advisor and/or Influencer! We’re gearing up to make the sixth annual Bike Travel Weekend during the weekend of June 4 - 6, 2021 even bigger and better than last year—and we couldn’t do it without dedicated volunteers like you.
I’m outlining your commitment as a Bike Travel Weekend volunteer below.
How Advisors Can Help
As an Advisor your role is to help make Bike Travel Weekend a success in your local area or region by providing suggestions and advice to participants.
We will include your contact information on the Connect with An Advisor webpage. Please check your name and listing for accuracy so potential participants can communicate with you regarding routes, gear, and general questions. We want you to share your local knowledge along with your interest, enthusiasm, and excitement for cycling, based upon your seasoned experience. Check out the Bike Travel Weekend Ideas page for planning resources. You can also direct people to the Bike Travel Weekend Toolkit if they need more details and promotional resources.
How Influencers Can Help
As an Influencer your role is to help promote Bike Travel Weekend to your communities, whether that includes your family and friends, coworkers, your bike club, meetup group, bicycle advocacy organization, or other community group. If you use social media we’re counting on you to share Bike Travel Weekend to your online communities as well.
Your job is to spread the word about Bike Travel Weekend as much as possible, whether that means distributing marketing materials in your community or posting about Bike Travel Weekend with #BikeTravelWeekend on your social media channels. Everything you need to promote Bike Travel Weekend is available on the Promote Bike Travel Weekend page and more details are available in the Bike Travel Weekend Toolkit.
Optional: As a Bike Travel Weekend volunteer you do not have to organize your own ride, but we encourage you to plan and register one. Everyone who registers by May 30 will be entered for a chance to win a bike. Participants can also enter to win the sweepstakes through registrants’ trip details page. Ride leaders will get an extra entry for every participant who enters.
Also, the first 250 to register will receive a Bike Travel Weekend patch. All volunteers will get a special thank-you gift in the mail, too!
Expect to receive periodic emails from me. In addition, we’re using Facebook to communicate and create connections between Bike Travel Weekend volunteers. If you aren’t already part of the Facebook group request to be added.

If you’re not on Facebook already, you can create an account. If you’d rather not, that’s OK: You will still receive our email messages.
