Level of difficulty: Medium to Advanced due to technical section on horse trail that contains many downed trees to portage over. Recommended for mountain bike or similar with plus size tires (at least 2" wide). Mostly rural gravel and dirt roads in Bankhead National Forest, some technical double and single track horse trail through Sipsey Wilderness, about 15% paved scenic rural roads on day 2 with a couple miles on a more traveled highway. Route is one large loop with free camping at a small campground. Each rider responsible for all food/water for both days- there is no place along the route to resupply; campground has spigot for water.
