Thank you for being part of an amazing weekend of bike travel this year! Check out a great wrap-up at our Member News page! We hope to see you register for Bike Your Park Day on September 24th, 2022 - registration will open soon!
Come enjoy the Rail Trails right in your backyard! This trip is meant to be very accessible to all skill levels. All but 11 miles are on trails, and the 11 miles on road stay on safe side streets and dirt. I would not recommend skinny tires. We'll ride the Macomb Orchard Trail, Polly Ann, and Paint Creek.
We will ride 52 miles (40 on Sat and 12 on Sun). If you want to get in more miles, there are lots of options! On Saturday there are over 38 additional trail miles you can ride, and/or you can check out mountain bike areas in Stoney Creek or Orion Township. On Sunday, if you want, there's another 36 miles of trail (one way) that you can add on. But these are entirely optional.
The route is also trailer and kid friendly. There are playgrounds along the way and at the campground.
The plan is to meet for breakfast or lunch in Rochester on Saturday and then head out. If you want to ride to Rochester from home, I'm happy to plot you a route. If you want to take the bus up from the Woodward Corridor, I'm happy to meet you in Pontiac and ride the rail trail with you to Rochester.
Here's a map of the route:
(Rochester - Romeo - Leonard - Orion - Rochester)
Registration for this event is currently closed. Check back soon for the launch of Bicycle Travel Weekend for 2023!
