Ride Description

Amtrak stopped train service to Bellingham for track maintenance.  It is expected to be back in service but I can't take the chance so I've revised the travel weekend to do something else.

The new ride will be called the Grand Sound Loop. This ride starts on THURSDAY  2 Jun 2022.  Day 1, 50 miles Kingston Ferry to Arlington.  We're leaving from Kingston PnR on THURSDAY instead of Friday as this loop is longer and requires an extra day. So whether you are riding to the start, or getting dropped off, or using the PnR ensure you arrive at the Kingston Terminal in time for the 0935 sailing. After arriving in Edmonds we head for Arlington via back roads and bike paths.  We'll overnight at the Arlington Inn,  2214 WA-530, Arlington, WA 98223•(360) 652-9595  if you call them they'll tell you to use booking .com.  Total came to $91.

3 Jun 2022,  Day 2, 45 miles, Arlington to Anacortes. Our route will have us heading up to LaConner for a coffee stop and taking in the waterfront views before heading out very rural roads toward Anacortes, our overnight location.  San Juan Motel, 1103 6th St, Anacortes, WA 98221, (360) 293-5105  Rates should be about $82 per night. Ronnie is very accommodating as we go there a lot.

4 Jun,  Day 3 Anacortes to Port Townsend.  44 miles Using back roads as much as possible we head down Whidbey and catch the ferry over to Port Townsend.  Our overnight, Harborside Inn, can also book them on line easily.  $119+tax

5 Jun Day 4, Port Townsend to Kingston PnR or whatever route you choose to go home.  mileage varies.  37 to the PnR.  Heading out the Larry Scott trail and passing by MatsMAts on our way to Kitsap County.  Will stop in Port Ludlow for coffee.
