Save the date for next year’s adventure!! We are already looking ahead to June 3 – 5, 2022 for the next Bike Travel Weekend!
I will be exploring the Twin Cities area by bicycle. Starting from my home in St. Paul, which is .5 from Como Regional Park. First day destination will be Minneapolis, around three of the Minneapolis lakes that are beautiful. Lakes are as follows: Lake of the Isles, Lake Bde Maka Ska (means White Earth Lake, in the Dakota language) and Lake Harriet. Great places to eat outside such as The Birchwood Cafe, in Minneapolis. Pretty much all paved roads. I will bike home due to the pandemic. Ride will follow the bike paths/street along the Mississippi River. Ride may vary from 35-45 miles.
Second day, depending on how the first day goes will be to Stillwater, Minnesota. Same scenario, bike during the day and then back home to St. Paul. The distance will be less than the first day. I may take the Gateway trail from St. Paul, depending on safety issues. I will again eat outside by the St. Croix River, purchase some popcorn from Candyland, which has the BEST popcorn evahhhhh!
