This is a great all-paved over-nighter out of Marin. Start out of Fairfax and stay inland, riding through San Geronimo, along the Nicasio Reserve, through dairy pastures until just north of Tomales. When you reach Highway 1, you can cut the ride short by staying on the road through Valley Forge to Bodega Bay.
For a true treat, turn North and head to Wild Flour Bread (closes at 6pm) for some of the best bread in the world. Continue North on a scenic road with light traffic and plentiful Redwoods to Monte Rio and Route 116. Ride the final stretch on Highway 1 in to camp. Hiker/biker spots at Bodega Dunes are $10 per person
On Sunday, take the 1 down to Sir Francis Drake and complete the loop in Fairfax.
