Save the date for next year’s adventure!! We are already looking ahead to June 3 – 5, 2022 for the next Bike Travel Weekend!
Because of the current Nova Scotia COVID travel restrictions outside of our immediate areas of residence at the moment, we plan to travel on the Rum Runner's Trail (www.halifaxtrails.ca/rum-runners-trail/) as required either in one direction for as far as we can go and then back. There is a great campground at Graves Island near Hubbards but at the moment it is still COVID closed. There are places where we can camp along the trail but depending on the weather and restrictions, our fallback plan is to possibly come back and camp in our yard if we cannot socialize with others. It is a beautiful trail and not difficult with great food and coffee along the way including take outs. Breakfast at Bike and Bean or at Cavicchi's Meats for a yummy breakfast sandwich, then just enjoy the scenery and each other. With regular coffee breaks and snacks at the covered picnic tables along the way make for a great cycling event.
Ideally we would go all the way to Lunenburg. Maybe another year!
