Flying into PDX to stay with friends and a quick tour of Portland by bike. Then we hit the asphalt in Astoria, OR - heading to Manzanita, OR for our first night on the road. Next stop - Lincoln City or thereabouts. And on to San Francisco.
Two 60-something Massachusetts guys, hitting the road on bikes (Rivendell Hillborne for Steve, Honey All Roads for me) - not as loaded as some folks (NO camping and NO cooking related gear required for Credit Card Camping). But carrying gear sufficient for a bucket list adventure in the Pacific Northwest. No tour company and a flexible itinerary.
We'll be following the AC Pacific Coast (sections 2 & 3) route; we're digital AND analog on this trip. Total mileage - 750 miles +/-. Total adventure - TBD but looking good already. We took a shakedown ride from Central to Western Massachusetts. Adventure ensued.
Looking forward to seeing the Pacific Ocean up close and personal.
Cheers, Phil Posner
