Riding the Chisholm trail | West Fort Worth to Cleburne

Start Location
3616 Guadalupe Rd, Fort Worth, TX 6116
Number of participants
Ride Description

My wife and I are going to follow the historic Chisholm trail starting at our home in West Fort Worth on Friday and head south to stay at the historic Liberty hotel in Cleburne,Texas, returning home on Saturday.

We will be using the riding app, Komoot, to guide our path. The entire ride is on paved highway and we be riding our co-op ADV 2.1 touring bikes with our overnight gear packed in our panniers.

The Liberty Hotel in Cleburne, TX was built in 1924 as a luxurious place for travelers to rest their heads along the Santa Fe railroad. Despite its small town status, Cleburne was critical to the Santa Fe Railroad system after they built a locomotive back shop. There's quite a bit of interesting history in Cleburne that includes trains, the Chisholm trail and stories of the old west.

Happy riding everyone! Ken and Saundra
