Save the date for next year’s adventure!! We are already looking ahead to June 3 – 5, 2022 for the next Bike Travel Weekend!
The North Bend Trail is a rail trail so the riding will be flat. From what I read the trail is in different conditions depending where you are on the trail. Certain parts seem to be well maintained limestone paths, where other parts are less developed and a bit bumpy. There are something like 36 bridges and 13 tunnels (or ten depending what you read.)
I will be riding with my wife on what will be her first Bike Travel Weekend. She will be riding an ebike. This will be the farthest range we ever attempted with this bike. We have done 50 miles a number of times but that extra 20 will make it close.
We will be staying in medium priced hotels because there is nothing better than a warm shower after a long ride. It will be nice to get out and ride a decent distance. Last year was a year of short rides near my house. I need to do something longer. This should be a great initial ride to start the year. If all goes well, I can take that 7 day trip in the fall.
