Herrick Bike Camping

Start Location
Mount Pleasant, MI

Ride Description

Our family will be cycling from Mount Pleasant to Herrick Recreation Area for a two night camping trip. Two of our daughters (ages 7 and 6) will be riding their own bikes so the pace will be slow (8-10 MPH), but, fortunately, we don't have far to go. We plan on staying on paved roads as much as possible, but some dirt is inevitable as the campground is on a dirt road.

Friday

Check-in time at Herrick is 3:00, so we plan on leaving Mount Pleasant around 1:00. Reservations are required for camping at Herrick Recreation Area, an Isabella County Park.

Saturday

We mostly plan on swimming and enjoying the play equipment at Herrick Recreation Area. Others may choose to ride 50 miles or more on the Pere Marquette Rail-Trail, which goes into Midland.

Sunday

Our Lady of Hope Church, Clare is only a few miles ride via the Pere Marquette Rail-Trail and city streets. We will leave at 7:30 for 8:00 mass. Check out time is 1:00, so there should be plenty of time to enjoy the park before heading home.
