The rail trail is smooth dirt/gravel and beautiful!
Last Bike Travel Weekend, 7 of us rode East to the Columbia River. This year we're heading West to the mountains! Lake Easton State Park Bike and Hike campsite has showers, a beach and a cool bike site on the Yakima River! A restaurant and grocery store are in Easton, a short 2 miles from Camp. So you don't even have to cook; but you can cook at the two picnic tables listening to the River. For the younger, more adventurous bikers, an option to head up old USFS Dirt roads that intersect this trail but not required. The rest of us will head up to the Pass.
Bring whatever bike you HAVE: touring, gravel, mtb, cross, or ebike. Bigger tires are better, 40mm+ (but Helen did it last year on bald road tires); and it's a lot smoother as a State Park maintained trail surface.
A tent or tarp is advisable in early June. No cars! Few use this GEM of a Bikepacking Trail. Come join us for some fun in Eastern Washington Cascades. $12 Camp fee.
13 people are joining this ride and are entered in the sweepstakes.
