Biked from Silver City NM to Mesa campground at Lake Roberts on Friday night, 33 miles with about 3100' of elevation gain. Saturday ride up over the pass to the Gila Cliff Dwellings area, total of 28 miles with 2,500' of elevation gain. Unfortunately the Cliff Dwellings monument was closed to the public due to a wildfire in the vicinity. I did manage to get a campsite at the local hot springs campground due to a last minute cancellation of someone that had reserved a site. Spent plenty of time soaking in the springs! Sunday was the long ride back to Silver City, completing the scenic byway with a total of 66 miles and 5,900' of elevation gain.
