The bulk of this trip will follow along the shoulder of a state highway. The entire trip has a 6 foot shoulder. Both the highway and the shoulder are well maintained. Our destination will be an equally well maintained campground beside one of the largest ( and prettiest) reservoirs in the state. After the overnight camp out, we'll return to Springfield via the same route
The route is a mix of flat sections, moderately hilly sections and a few 'climbers'. I am NOT a high speed, or even a high performance cyclist. The route is certainly doable. I'm in no hurry, we'll get there when we get there
Yes there is traffic. But, the 6 foot shoulder provides me a decent buffer and I'm not overtly concerned.
