On Friday, take Olmsted County 8 Bamber Valley School to Mower County 8 to Shooting Star State Trail to Lake Louise SP Red Oak Group camp (tent camping). Olmsted County 8 has a wide paved shoulder. Mower County 8 is a low volume paved road. The only major climb is the first 2 miles out of Bamber Valley School, otherwise the route is mostly flat. The final 3 miles are on the Shooting Star State Trail. Level of difficulty would be level 2.
Camp is a group tent camp with water and vault toilets; showers and flush toilets are a moderate walk away. We will stay there 2 nights. On Saturday there are multiple options for riding (unloaded), including the Shooting Star Trail, up to 55 miles round trip, or longer if going into Austin MN. Another option is riding the Wapsi-Great Western Trail in Iowa, about 8 miles from the camp. On Sunday we will reverse the route o ride back to Rochester.
COVID-19 protocols will be determined closer to the start of the ride. Ride leader has been vaccinated.
