"Bicycling is a big part of the future. It has to be. There's something wrong with a society that drives a car to work out in a gym."
-Bill Nye, The Science Guy

NICE GUY IN CUBA
Ryan Van Duzer rode across Cuba with no itinerary, ran a marathon in Havana, and gave his bike away to someone who needed it more than he did. (Way to make the rest of us look bad, Ryan!)

AND WE THOUGHT COLORADO WAS JUST MOUNTAINS AND POT DISPENSARIES
As a complement to the (much) hillier Ride the Rockies event, Pedal the Plains takes riders through southeastern Colorado, which doesn't get nearly as much attention as it deserves.

WATER STORIES
Poet, cyclist, and storyteller Devi Lockwood is traveling the world asking folks to tell her stories about water. (A certain editor-in-chief of a certain cycling magazine began telling us a story, but we stopped him when we realized that he was just reciting the plot to the movie "Waterworld.")

THE ORIGINAL TWEET
Donald Kroodsma cycled across the country collecting bird songs, bonding with his son, David (check out his article in the May issue of Adventure Cyclist), and exploring America. He recently published a book about his trip called "Listening to a Continent Sing," which has beautiful illustrations and QR codes that will play bird songs on your smart phone. Click on the link below for a short video about Donald's book.

BEER IS GOOD FOR YOU! (SO SAYETH THE INTERNET)
We don't feel the need to justify our second-favorite hobby (our third-favorite is recycling beer cans), but if someone wants to shamelessly cherry pick from scientific studies to make drinking beer seem healthy, we won't object.
