GREAT BOOK COVERING INFORMATION ON HYDRATION AND NUTRITION FOR THE SERIOUS CYCLIST (COMPETIVE OR TOURING). HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE A TOURING CYCLIST AND LOOKING FOR OTHER CREATIVE WAYS TO HAVE A GOURMET MEAL THE BOOK IS LIMITED. I WAS GOING BY THE TITLE FUELING FOR THE DISTANCE WHICH IN MY CASE DAY AFTER DAY RIDING. MY SON AND DAUGHTER IN LAW ARE IRON MAN COMPETITORS AND SAID BASED ON THE TITLE THEY WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT WAS MORE ABOUT TOURING DAY AFTER DAY OF FOOD PREPARATION THAN COMPETITION. I feel it is a very thorough book. It covers all types of foods to help you prepare, and recover from rides. It also ranks food by benefit. They cover hydration, before, during and after. They also give you a recipe for your own drinks. There are menu ideas. There are formulas for calculating your calorie needs.
