Brooks Flyer Saddle

The Flyer is a classically sprung saddle for long distance trekking and touring. It is directly descending from the B66 Champion, first featured in the 1927 catalogue. Sharing the same leather tops of the B17 models, they combine the comfort of these popular models with the extra suspension granted by two rear springs. This saddle has a smooth leather top, with 3 small holes for ventilation, smooth (non chamfered) skirts, small hollow steel rivets, with quality saddle bag loops on the frame. (Brooks Saddle Tensioning Spanner included)

Break In

I still have a ways to go before I break it in, I do find it comfortable but I also found that the 3 holes in the middle of the seat on top sometimes pinch. I hope this will resolve itself as I break in the saddle. I have been told it take 6 months, I ride daily.

Most comfortable saddle I've ever owned

I always shied away from leather saddles because of the reputed and infamous "break in" period. Too bad, because after buying a Brooks saddle, I can say all that "break in" stuff is nonsense. This is the most comfortable saddle I've ever ridden...FROM THE FIRST DAY I MOUNTED IT ON MY BIKE! Wish I had the wisdom to try a Brooks saddle 25 or 30 years ago. Before this purchase, I always rode semi-firm gel-filled saddles, which I THOUGHT were comfortable until I purchased my Brooks saddle. Brooks makes my old gel saddle feel like a spike. I know. It is counter intuitive. But the hard-feeling Brooks saddle is MUCH more comfortable than a relatively soft feeling gel saddle. Go figure! But it's true.

Really nice ride

I've only used this saddle for about 500 miles so far but the shock absorbing qualities really are markedly better than my typical saddle! I have used it on the same rough roads as I ride with my other bike and what a difference!
