The main compartment is large enough to accommodate a change of clothes, while three organizational pockets are perfect for storing snacks and electronics. Keep hydration close with two mesh, water storage pockets on either side of the bag. For even quicker access, the Ranger Hip Pack features a front-loading tool roll, which is secured by a Velcro and buckle latch system. Showers Pass makes very good - premium priced - products. However, I have several complaints about the Ranger hip pack.
#1 - It doesn't fit. The ad says "Adjustable waist fits waists size 24 - 48 inches". I have a 36 inch waist. I can just barely, with great effort, snap the strap around my waist. I know I need to lose some weight, but this is ridiculous.
#2 - The soft, collapsible water bottles that came with the pack do not easily fit into the pack holders when full; when empty they must be stored inside the pack.
#3 - Product overpriced. The hip pack is well made and probably is 100% waterproof (haven't used it in the rain yet). But there are many other hip packs, back packs, and packs with hydration bladders that could be purchased for less money

Hi William-
Just wanted to reach out and offer a bit of help with the Ranger Pack. I also own one and have a 36" waist and felt similarly to you about the tight waistbelt. The key to getting a good fit is to loosen the load-bearing straps (on the side) all the way before putting the pack on, and then tightening everything to fit. This should give a much larger range to the hip belt for you. As far as the water bottles, the trick is to blow air into them after you sip, and they will inflate like a balloon, becoming rigid enough to fit properly in the external pockets. Hope this helps!
