These featherlight raincovers are made from ultra light 1.9 oz Silicon Coated Ripstop Nylon so they don't take up much room. An elasticized drawstring allows them to be adjusted to fit the load and a piece of stretch micro mesh fabric at the bottom allows any water that gets inside to drain keeping your bags dry and clean. Keeps 'em dry

I've got front and back Arkel panniers, and bought the covers for both. The cinching system took a minute to figure out and how to best finagle it for a proper fit, but after a few uses, it became pretty quick to don the covers and snug them up. I used them on a not-quite-downpoor, but more of a steady-rain-all-day-long downpour, and the panniers stayed dry. Can't say more than that!

Seems fine...

I purchase the Large cover for an old Cannondale handlebar bag. The dimensions of the Cannondale bag are 10x7.5x9 inches. The dimension are approximate because the pockets on the bag allow it to expand quite a bit. The Arkel cover fits fine with still some room to spare, but not with a lot of "bagginess". The cover seems to be very well made. Fortunately, I haven't been caught in the rain since buying the cover! I can provide another review once I've tried it in bad weather. Bad weather is a rarity in The Garden State!

Dry, but...

These covers keep my panniers dry, even in hard rain. My only disappointment is that Arkel no longer has mesh net pockets attached to the covers. My previous Arkel covers had the mesh pockets, and they were very handy for quick storage of items when it was not raining. The brightness of the covers increase visibility. I decided to use the covers even on clear sunny days, for visibility purposes.

Beat the rain

I picked the absolutely worst week of weather to go on my inagural solo self contained bike ride through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Temps in the 50's and persistent showers to downpours. Yet, all of my gear withstood the elements and a change into dry clothing at day's end was well worth the investment.

Staying Dry

While I haven't had the chance to test these in Monsoon-like conditions, they did take on some nasty storms in South America. They managed to stand up to the test and keep all my belongings dry. They are also breathable enough so moisture does not build up inside of them. The elastic fit strap makes sure they fit to a very wide range of bags, as I used them on both Arkel and Nashbar bags. They are also very light and pack down very nicely.
