From Puget Sound in Washinton to fishing villages in Maine, the Northern Tier crosses four mountain ranges- the Cascades, Rockies, Adirondacks and Appalachians. Along the way the route passes through Glacier National Park, the headwaters of the Mississippi, and Amish country. Discover the beauty of America by crossing the country on the Northern Tier.

Without ACA maps, I would not be touring across the country. We used the Trans America set in 2015 and didn't miss a turn. Everything we needed was included. I'm old school, and like to use the maps--it gives me a better visual of the route & where I am on it. All I have to do is follow the red lined road on the NT maps, and before I know it, I'll be in Anacortes, WA, by September. I only wish I had a Toto to bring along. Happy & Safe Cycling!
But with one complaint...
Curtis Eshelman on 9/7/11
A group of us are planning to ride across the country next Summer. This was excellent to make us talk about details.
I wish more of the sections have elevation drawings. Only three of eleven do. Failing that, I wish these elevations were available on the website. You can download the GPS data and load it into some other program, but that's pretty involved. Wish the website had them displayed.
A bit out of date
John Armstrong on 8/2/11
I know maps get out of date fast, but some of the directions are opposite (left should be right, etc.). Many of the places are out of business ... and have been for a long time.
I must admit, I'm part of the problem. I should have been sending in correction cards all along the way.
Be that as it may, we use these maps knowing that we can't count on places being there and often having to get second opinions on directions.
Overall, we are happy to have the maps which complment our tools for making this journey.
I love the maps
A customer from Oregon on 4/9/11
I've reviewed them in-depth and I'm feeling very much prepared for the upcoming adventure. I'd highly recommend them at this point and I appreciate the post cards in helping you keep them updated. We'll be sure to send in comments as we find things changed.
Thank you very much for taking the time to put together such detailed maps, making our adventures more enjoyable.
Northern Tier Map Set
Susan Goettsch on 3/5/11
Haven't done this tour yet, but other ACA routes, and the information on these maps is a fantastic help, more than any guide books or GPS can offer. For the future I do have one wish/suggestion: The Sierra Cascade Maps show the elevation profile directly underneath the corresponding map section. I'd like to see this feature on all maps, but assume that it's probably too costly to change the sets that have already exist.
Northern Tier Maps A++!
A customer from Massachusetts on 2/4/11
The maps are fantastic for cyclists- very detailed. For full disclosure purposes, the packet I was sent contained a double of one map and was missing another. After a quick phone call to AC the problem was corrected and the missing map was shipped to me. Fantastic customer service on their part, and a true pleasure to work with. Keep up the good work!
Northern Tier Maps
A customer from Hudson, NH on 5/6/10
I've used ACA's maps in the past, so I knew what to expect. And I wasn't disappointed. These maps are worth their weight in gold! Thanks for making this an easier and less stressful adventure. Keep up the great work.
What a Ride
