This high-performance hat features woven Eventure Fabric on top for wicking and knit Coolmax sides. You’ll be able to beat the heat with this visor and neck cover, and when the weather turns tuck the drape up for a 2-in1 combo.
On really hot days, dunk it in a stream and let the water evaporate to keep you even cooler. It's white, so it gets dirty pretty quickly, but it seems to clean up well in a sink with a little soap. I have to agree with the dorkiness comment; I quickly learned to take it off in photos.

After moving to CA, I noticed beginnings of skin damage from sun exposure. Ordered 2 of these caps, which are competitively priced and have excellent coverage. Liked them so much, I ordered 1 more. Not only protect my face, but also my ears and neck; fit nicely under my helmet; stand up to cleaning after each sweaty ride.
On my second one

Love this hat. On my second one already. I would have never bought this to begin with, but my wife got it for me as a birthday gift. Wore the first one out until it was literally falling apart, after a few years of constant wear.
Yay! Less sunscreen

With this cap sunscreen is unnecessary on my face neck and ears and nose, so that is a great positive. The only negative I am dealing with is that the bill is too low in front beneath the helmet that it makes it hard for me to get my helmet mounted rearview mirror hard to adjust, so that the bill is not in the way.

I have been wearing this while rowing on the Snake River. It does a terrific job of keeping the sun off my head, ears and neck. I look like a total dork, but several of my teammates have asked about it since it's so practical. My husband got one to wear while fishing for the same reason.

I got this hat to protect the back of my neck on my Summer 2016 Underground Rail Road Route tour. What I didn't expect was how useful it was at keeping flying insects out of my ears.

My all time favorite sun hat. Just bought a new one, they wash well but do eventually wear out. They fit well under a bike helmet. They wick moisture and keep your head as cool as any hat I've ever had.

Love this hat! I don't care if I look like a dork - it's great for protecting my ears and neck from the Arizona sun while I bike (and even better for running, since it flaps in the wind and keeps even cooler).

I wear this for every mountain bike race and road tour. It keeps the sun off my ears and neck, keeps my head cooler than wearing a bandanna, and keeps the sweat out of my eyes and off my sunglasses. I now wear a bandanna post race for helmet hair. I'm ordering another one so I always have a clean one on hand.

The weight and feel of this cap are excellent, but the draping fabric covers only the back of the neck, and is not sufficient to also provide protection for the sides. It does not do a better job of keeping the sun off than just a simple bandana tucked under your helmet. The "geek" factor of such an outfit is high, but this cap's high tech approach was not much better looking, and did not provide adequate sun protection for those that need greater coverage.

As a 65 year old touring rider and lifelong outdoor enthusiast I've unfortunately had too much exposure to the sun. Several reminders of past sun damage have been removed from my ears and now, even though it is late, I'm much more aware and careful. The Protech Cap did a great job of shielding my ears from the sun on the 1900 miles that I rode on the Pacific Coast Highway tour that I finished in November 2011. The only issue that I identified is that my head seemed a little warmer than it might be if the material of the crown of the hat was a little thinner. It might also have been a little more comfortable under my helmet with slightly thinner material. I wore it all but several rain days so these questions did not reduce its usefulness. I will also wear it for longer rides in my hometown of Memphis in the Summer. Jim
