I hope to take a multi-week trip from Krakow to Vienna (or alternatively through Romania) sometime in April or May of 2026. Departure from Washington-Dulles. A leisurely 45 miles a day and a total of 400-600 miles through Poland, Slovakia, Czechia and Austria. Train travel involved and time off to visit a few larger cities of interest, as well as Auschwitz-Birkenau. Overnights in pensions, B&Bs and small family-run hotels.

I’ve taken multiple self-planned trips throughout Europe, a bit in North Africa and the Middle East, as well as in North America. I’m looking for one other intrepid road cyclist, M/F age 40+, to join me for the adventure. Self-contained touring experience, a sociable demeanor, a flexible, positive spirit, intelligent conversation and a sense of humor highly desirable. Interests: mingling with the locals, historic sites, mountain scenery, photography, languages and the cultures and cuisine of those countries.
