Cruel Joke; Unsatisfactory

The main colored material this pack is made from, looks, feels, rolls and slides like flimsy underwear. It is reasonably abrasion resistant. The shoulder straps twist, sometimes roll over multiple times EVERY time the pack is slipped on. Once smoothed and straightened, the straps bunch, pucker and roll, digging into arms, and on bicycle tour with typical arm and hand issues, adding a shoulder strap tourniquet should be avoided. The interior has dividing pocket and for provision a hydro-reservoir siphon tube, but more than 40 oz. maxed out the length and width, hanging and swinging on my back like a water-logged monkey, which caused me to use the word tourniquet above. Strapping it on a bike rack? The long slippery straps are hard to contain/restrain, but small tool kits, bottles or any water -- like near empty reservoirs -- shifts in the slippery, flimsy, mass, and migrates out of bungies regardless of the tightness. I carried it for 30 minutes before it fell off the first time and 45 minutes the next, but I wasted a lot of time trying to keep it from moving around in the first place. The side pockets look adequate on an empty pack, but in a half-filled to full round and shifting configuration, an 8 oz tube of Chamois Butt'r fell out shouldering the pack. They handled 5 oz sun screen, sweat bands, riding gloves and such, but these items could and would leave this pack scrunched and folded on the ground. The pack above is filled with paper and shaped for photographing. There are so many alternatives to this pack I have seen dirty (loved and used) that users raved about from REI, Northface, and others. Look elsewhere.
