MISSOULA, MONT., April 10, 2018 — Adventure Cycling Association invites people throughout the world to go on a one- or two-night bicycle trip to a campground, hotel, B&B, or even a friends’ house during the weekend of June 1–3.
Thousands of people have already registered for free at BikeTravelWeekend.org and are entered to win a bike by Co-Motion Cycles and two Amtrak tickets, with bike carry-on service, to Glacier National Park on the Empire Builder. Participants can ride any distance, and can ride alone or with family or friends, or they can join an-already registered public trip on the Bike Travel Weekend Find A Ride page.
“In the past two years, nearly 20,000 adventurers went on over 1,800 Bike Travel Weekend trips,” says Jim Sayer, executive director of Adventure Cycling Association. “Bike Travel Weekend is for people of all ages to experience the joy of bicycle travel by going on a trip that works for them.”
Bike Travel Weekend registrants can make their trip public or open for others to join in order to create bike connections in their area. Participants can also connect with one of more than 200 Bike Travel Weekend Advisors, who are eager to share their local and regional knowledge of bike-friendly routes and overnight accommodations.
Examples of registered Bike Travel Weekend trips open to the public include:
