Adventure Cycling Association, the Natchez Trace Parkway, and the Natchez Trace Parkway Association will be hosting focus group meetings this September in three locations along the Natchez Trace: Ridgeland, Tupelo, and Nashville. We invite you to join us at the location nearest you for the opportunity to discuss:
1) How to make the Parkway safer for cyclists
2) How to encourage all Parkway road users to share the road respectfully
3) How to rebrand the Parkway as a National Park treasure for all to enjoy responsibly
4) The effectiveness of recently installed sharrows and signs near Tupelo, MS and Leiper’s Fork, TN to raise awareness of cyclists using the Parkway
The meetings will include facilitated discussions in a format where all voices and ideas will be heard. The National Park Service Rivers & Trails Conservation Assistance Program will lead the facilitation sessions at all three meetings with assistance from Adventure Cycling. In addition, representatives from Bike Walk Mississippi and Bike Walk Tennessee will help facilitate the meetings in their respective states. Food and refreshments will be provided.
