Join Adventure Cycling Association for a regional gathering at REI Rockville on Wednesday, December 2 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. (6:30 to 7:00 for social time, followed by program). Ginny Sullivan, Adventure Cycling’s director of travel initiatives, will be on hand to talk about the latest in bike travel news, including: cool new bike routes all over North America (such as the new Bicycle Route 66 and the forthcoming Texas Hill Country and Chicago-NYC routes), bike overnights, the U.S. Bicycle Route System, partnerships with Amtrak and the National Park Service to promote cycling, national and state advocacy efforts, and big plans for Adventure Cycling’s 40th anniversary in 2016.
You’ll also learn about the latest campaigns and progress being made by the Washington Area Bicycle Association (WABA), the region’s bike advocacy organization. Executive Director Greg Billing will share regional updates and local successes, like the protected bike lane being installed in White Flint along Nebel Street and the monumental gains in Montgomery County’s bike master plan. Before the program, you can eat snacks and enjoy some beverages. Please join us and bring a friend!
