TOURS SPECIALIST – CUSTOMER SUPPORT
ADVENTURE CYCLING ASSOCIATION
MISSOULA, MT
The Adventure Cycling Association seeks a well-organized and outgoing individual to join its Tours team, which plans and manages over 45 different bicycle tours and instructional courses annually. This is a great opportunity to help promote bicycling and bicycle travel for North America's largest bicycle membership non-profit organization. We seek a team member who enjoys bicycling and interacting with people, and who has experience working in data management and providing top-level customer service. The position is based at Adventure Cycling's headquarters in beautiful and friendly Missoula, Montana.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer relations and support: Frontline leader in providing information and support for individuals interested in participating in Adventure Cycling tours. Customer interaction is largely handled via telephone and e-mail. Developing a thorough knowledge of our travel offerings is essential.
Data management and customer tracking: Trip registration and payment transaction tracking, along with information collection and dissemination, are key functions of this position.
Copywriting and departmental support: Assist with copywriting for tours marketing and informational web blogs. Provide other general operational and administrative support for Tours Department and its programs, as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Outstanding interpersonal skills. Excellent team player; enjoys working with others to achieve great outcomes. Friendly and articulate, with great telephone manner. Strong computer skills, especially database management and word processing; good grasp of the Internet. Well-organized and able to meet deadlines. Enthusiastic about the outdoors, recreation and bicycling.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferably, two or more years at a college or university. Top candidates will have at least two years of professional experience. Special note will be made of candidates' experience working with mission-driven non-profit organizations, although candidates whose experience is with for-profit firms are also encouraged to apply. Of course, attention will be paid to candidates' bicycling experience and ability to bring humor and good spirits to the job and workplace.
COMPENSATION AND WORKPLACE
The position will be competitively compensated in the Northern Rockies region. Benefits include paid time off for holidays, vacation and sick leave, an additional fully-paid one week bike vacation, full medical and dental coverage, life insurance, and retirement plan.
