Dear Adventure Cyclist:
Now
is the time to choose your 2006 Adventure Cycling bike vacation -
a trip you will look forward to until it happens, enjoy while you are living
it, and remember forever. For the new season, we have lots of fresh
new adventures for you to select from as well as the classic tours that
are keystones of Adventure Cycling's 30 years of cycling experience. Don't
delay your decision; seven of our trips are already sold out!*
For many cyclists, a cross-country
bike trip is a life goal. Adventure Cycling authored the granddaddy of all
cross-country rides with its TransAm back in 1976, and is widely considered the
ultimate resource for transcontinental cycling trips. In 2006 you can choose
from three routes and five departure dates. The Southern
Tier and Southern
Tier Plus both use our shortest route crossing America in just 65 days. If
the North Country is more to your liking, you can explore the 4,304 miles of
the Northern
Tier route that crosses the country near its border with Canada. Finally,
there is the classic TransAm that
traces the route Adventure Cycling first ventured out on 30 years ago. This
could be your year to discover a "new you" out there on the open road.
This season we have also come up with some brand new trip ideas and locations.
At one end of the adventure spectrum we have the C&O
Towpath, a relaxed cruise along a famous eastern canal, and our Parent/Child
Tour, a bike path-based trip in Colorado that is ideally suited for families
cycling together. For those who want greater challenges, the Colorado
Alpine Loop trip offers a mountain bike journey over four high altitude passes
in an area best described as the "Switzerland of America."
Don't forget all the fun and fabulous riding that make our supported event-style
rides so special. This year, we are offering Cycle
the Columbia Gorge, Cycle
Utah, Cycle
Montana and Cycle
Utah Parks on the road side of things and Cycle
the Divide Montana for you dirt riders. All events feature a full complement
of amazing rides, luggage support, catered meals, and just enough fellow riders
to have fun without feeling overwhelmed. By the way, if you need a little more
than a week of riding, check out our excursions and expeditions, from the New
Englander and Glacier-Waterton to Lewis & Clark
West for you history buffs.
Our goal here at Adventure Cycling Association is to get you bicycling and we
are excited to offer an energizing mix of classic tours and new tour offerings.
All of our adventures provide excellent opportunities for you to travel by bicycle
with people who have the same thing at heart: travel and see the world, or at
least a beautiful part of it, from the best vantage point available - your bicycle.
Please join us, and feel free to call us if you have any questions.
