These loose-fitting shorts with a moisture-wicking polypropylene chamois insert are a big hit with Adventure Cycling staff.  Great off and on the bike, the flat stitching in these bike shorts makes the pad almost unnoticeable when you’re off the bike.  Created from durable, fast-drying taslan nylon with two large zippered cargo pockets and a waist drawstring. Touring Shorts are perfect for the cyclist that doesn’t like the look or feel of the traditional form-fitting stretchy Lycra bike shorts, and wants a bike shorts he can feel comfortable wearing in public.

4 Stars Tighter Than Expected
by Jay Chamberlain from Fredericksburg, VA on Apr 20, 2012
Mixed feelings. I like them but.. I have a 35-36" waist and bought the XL. I feel like they are a bit snug across the hips and would like them at least 2" longer. I use them with and w/o bike shammy underwear.

5 Stars Liking them better
by a member from Newton, Kay-yan-zuz on Apr 18, 2012
I wrote a review on these a couple of years ago ("You Can Do Better"). I still wouldn't want them for a day-long ride but they've become my first choice for commuting (10.5 miles each way on a mountain bike, half on gravel/sand farm roads). The chamois is adequate for at least that much and after 3 years of seasonal use is holding up well, as is the product as a whole. A previously unmentioned advantage I've come to appreciate: they are light enough to wear un-noticed under street/walking shorts, jeans, cargo pants, etc. Among other things, this would make them useful, even essential, in cold weather. I'll give that a shot this winter. Used as described, I think they're excellent and rate them as such, the only downside being pockets so deep I have to bend over to retrieve anything in the bottom. I know, that sounds absurd. I'm tall. I'll order more anyway.
