Adventure Cycling Association is excited to announce the winners of its 2013 Bicycle Travel Awards! The Bicycle Travel Awards celebrate the individuals and groups making bicycle adventures possible. Support can come in a myriad of forms, from route creation to a hot shower, and these awards are Adventure Cycling's way of saying a big, collective ‘THANK YOU!’
I know that right now there are a lot of good causes and organizations that are requesting your support. And I know that a bicycling organization might not be on your top-10 list charities to support before year-end. But if you're a cyclist, and if you're reading this blog, there's a very good reason to donate to Adventure Cycling this holiday season.
When it comes to bicycle services on passenger rail, the U.S. lags behind many countries, especially in Europe. But this is changing as a partnership has formed between Adventure Cycling, Amtrak, and other bicycle and passenger-rail organizations across the country that are committed to making rail travel more bicycle friendly.
We are almost halfway to our goal of $100,000 for the Holiday Campaign challenge grant. As of this morning, we have raised $41,311. Check out the unique gifts you'll receive when you donate to Adventure Cycling's Holiday Campaign by December 31.
