To travel by bicycle is
a humble, nonagressive
way to get close to people.
It is a way of saying we
are passing through with
no thought of invasion or
conquest, only the simple
will to share a part
of the war.
- Claude Herve

Volunteer Of The Year Award

This award recognizes individuals who have donated their time, skills, and passion to Adventure Cycling Association and our mission of inspiring people to travel by bicycle for fun, fitness, and self-discovery. Their efforts are key in making Adventure Cycling Association the national leader in bicycle travel. Over the years, thousands of volunteers have donated tens of thousands of hours to us, and we want to say ‘thank you.’

ELIGIBILITY/CRITERIA

The 2010 nominee must show their commitment to Adventure Cycling through voluntary efforts. Their gift to Adventure Cycling Association need not have occurred in 2010 in order to qualify for nomination. A nominator can re-nominate a past nominee that has not won an award. View past winners.

HOW TO NOMINATE

Nominations are only accepted from Adventure Cycling staff, tour leaders, or Board of Directors. Nominations will be accepted beginning July 1, 2010.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection committee is comprised of Adventure Cycling Association staff members and Board of Directors. All nominations will be honored with a certificate and letter of appreciation.

One winner will be chosen and will receive a plaque and letter of recognition, as well as write-ups in Adventure Cyclist magazine; Bike Bits bi-weekly e-newsletter, the Adventure Cycling website and social media sites, as well as inclusion in a nationally distributed news release.
