To travel by bicycle is
a humble, nonagressive
way to get close to people.
It is a way of saying we
are passing through with
no thought of invasion or
conquest, only the simple
will to share a part
of the war.
- Claude Herve

WHY AND HOW YOU SHOULD ADVERTISE ONLINE
The Site
www.adventurecycling.org is the website for the Adventure Cycling Association, America's bicycle travel organization.

The site is used by Adventure Cycling's 44,500 members and cyclists planning bicycle adventures.

Like the Adventure Cycling Association, www.adventurecycling.org is a bike travel resource with news, stories, research, and information to help cyclists explore the world by bike.

Adventure Cycling's website, in the words of designer Paul Adkins, is "clean, simple, compelling, and efficient." Not a bad place for your message.

Traffic
We see about 3,000 viewers a day, totaling 100,000 visitors a month. The average visitor is looking at 4 pages and staying for 3+ minutes.

The site ranks high in the search engines, but most of our traffic comes from direct entry. We have 44,500 members in our organization; we email about 20,000 of them every other week. Bi-monthly we send "Bike Bits" (an email newsletter) to a separate list of 28,000 cyclists and growing. Because of the dynamic nature of www.adventurecycling.org many visitors return to the site for multiple visits, increasing the visibility of your ads.

Some of the busiest parts of our site are the Cyclists' Yellow Pages, the How To Department, our Ride Registry, and our Publications Archive.

When you advertise on www.adventurecycling.org, you are reaching cyclists that are actively planning bicycle vacations. They are researching destinations, travel options, and tours operators. They need information about where to travel, what to ride, and what to take with them.

As we have found with Adventure Cyclist magazine, cyclists that are planning bike trips are buyers - they look for the best bikes, gear, and equipment to make their adventure a success.
