I bought these near the end of winter, and of course the first day out I slipped on some black ice, and slid on my knee and side. Besides the bruises and some blood, the tights got a small, larger than a pin, smaller than a nail hole. Because this is a knit material, the hole never got bigger and I used them regularly the rest of the winter. The pro's are that they are warm even in the wind, and for below 20 degrees, a pair of long underwear underneath works fine. A con would be they may not work well in light snow and rain unless you add rain pants.
