National Advocacy Projects

We build national support for bicycle travel and address roadway concerns for cyclists on the Adventure Cycling Route Network, the U.S. Bicycle Route System, and other bicycle routes.

Issues often arise that affect cyclists' safety or bicycle access to roads or trails, and we work with decisionmakers and stakeholders to resolve these issues. We also provide letters of support or concern for local efforts to improve bicycle travel conditions.

  • See examples of past and current Action Alerts & Letters, and learn how Adventure Cycling can help support bicycle travel in your community or state;
  • Find resources for issues related to Rumble Strips, including best practice recommendations, studies and reports, and how we can help advocate for responsible rumble strip placement in your state;
  • Learn about our Advocacy Wins, including bicycle access issues, land use issues, and roadway concerns that we have resolved or are working to address along our routes.
