Adventure Cycling Association seeks an energetic, well-organized, and detail-oriented person to fill the role of Membership Marketing Coordinator in the Membership Department. This is a unique opportunity for a self-starter with initiative to join a growing membership program. We seek a team player, with a marketing background with an enthusiasm for cycling and bicycle travel. The position is based at Adventure Cycling’s headquarters in beautiful and bike-friendly Missoula, Montana.

General Summary

Manages our growing corporate membership program. Assists with and maintains new member promotions and manages the bike club and shop membership programs for the Membership Department.

Duties include social media outreach, coordinating our free membership program, working with the marketing team, coordinating club and bike shop new member & renewal mailings and overseeing and implementing annual surveys. This person interacts frequently with Adventure Cycling members and prospective corporate supporters, and should have exemplary interpersonal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and run corporate membership program.
  • Administer and expand bicycle club and shop memberships.
  • Oversee club, shop and corporate outreach to new prospects through mail, e-communications, and face-to- face interactions and manage fulfillment.
  • Develop budget for corporate, shop and club programs.
  • Handle the bicycle shop display program.
  • Assist with special member promotions such as twice yearly new member drives, free membership program and sample issues of Adventure Cyclist. Track return and create reports to monitor effectiveness.
  • Responsible for social media outreach in the Membership Department, coordinating with Media Department. This includes Facebook, Twitter and blog posts.
  • Work with the marketing team on Google AdWords and various other promotion projects.
  • Implement, promote and analyze annual member survey and train staff on survey program use.
  • Compose correspondence and select lists for bulk emails, promotional letters and monthly news updates for clubs and shops.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Well-organized, detailed, and deadline-oriented
  • Previous marketing and corporate relationship experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Access
  • Social media experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of the nonprofit sector and mission-driven organizations
  • Enthusiasm for (and experience with) cycling and bike travel  
  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in marketing and/or corporate relations preferred

Education and Experience

Completion of four-year degree program from a college or university. Previous experience at a nonprofit organization or relevant business preferred. Special note will be made of candidates’ bicycling and bike travel experience.
